Learn more about what makes Intellidance® unique

The foundation of the Intellidance® Method is the combination of dance and music concepts, identifying specific vocabulary in dance and music, and developing the understanding of both through the connection between concepts. These connected concepts provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, practice, and create using multiple senses and intelligences. This is what makes the Intellidance® Method so unique!

Intellidance® Spotify Playlist: Animal Movement Songs for Young Children

Young children are endlessly fascinated by the natural world! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In preschool, many children will independently engage in imaginative play based on animals. My own daughters spent hours and hours fully immersed in their “kitty cat club house” game. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I always try to meet my students where they are at, animal based dance and music activities are a big part of my preschool curriculum. Animal focused movement is a wonderful way nurture creative expression in young children. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With that in mind, I’ve put together a brand new Intellidance® Spotify Playlist: Animal Movement Songs!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This playlist features 30 of my favourite animal themed songs for young children to stomp, slither, fly, and have a roaring good time!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Put The Beat On Your Nose: Body Parts and Beat Song for Young Children

Today I wanted to share with you a simple action song from the Intellidance® Babies and Tykes curriculum: Put The Beat On Your Nose!

This adaptation of the song, If Your Happy and You Know It, is an fun way to work on body mapping and awareness through labeling and identifing different body parts.

This song also utilizes beat by gently tapping and touching different body parts rhythmically. Steady beat is associated with young children’s language and motor development and will also support their eventual reading skills.

Like everything we do at Intellidance®, these simple songs are a great way to have FUN on purpose! ~Jessica Baudin-Griffin,Intellidance® Founder

The Bear Went Over the Mountain: Action Song for Young Children

Today I’m sharing with you one of my favorite songs for teaching young children about the concept of Relationships. Young children are developing body and spatial awareness everyday as they learn how to navigate around objects and people in their environment.

In the action song, The Bear Went Over the Mountain, we use simple movements to introduce young children to the following relationship vocabulary:

  • Over
  • Around
  • Under

This song also supports young children’s fine motor skills as they walk their “bear” fingers on, under,  and around their knee “mountains”.

I hope you have a BEARY good time with this one! ~ Jessica Baudin-Griffin, Intellidance® Founder
